Should 15 months old be talking??? Speech & Language

This thread addresses a parent's concern about their 15-month-old twins not yet speaking, with multiple users sharing personal anecdotes about late talkers and twins developing unique communication styles. The discussion provides reassurance that language development varies by child and offers practical advice on focusing on specific words and using visual cues like mouth movements. It serves as a supportive FAQ response to the common question of whether 15-month-olds should be talking.

I am a twin and my mother told me that we didn't talk until we were about 2. She said we had our own language that we communicated to each other in, but no one else understood us. I think it is great that you are exposing them to many different languages! Continue doing what you are doing and happy teaching!!!
